VNK Herbs

VNK Herbs is a leading producer and supplier of aromatic and medicinal herbs, with a rich history of seventy years in the herbal market. VNK bv is Specialized in growing, drying and trading various types of herbs. Our modern drying facility in Biddinghuizen uses advanced drying techniques to ensure the quality of the herbs. In addition, we have developed our own seed selection and propagation programs for medicinal herbs such as valerian and angelica.

We work closely with growers and buyers to deliver high-quality products. This long-term cooperation and our global network, combined with our strategic location in the Netherlands, make us a reliable partner for the supply of spices around the world.

History VNK Herbs

Origin VNK Herbs
VNK Herbs originated in 1951 as part of two cooperative herb growers' associations that together established their own drying plant, the Zuid-Hollandse Herbs Dryery.
1972
Veghel to Uden
The company moved from Veghel to Uden in 1982 and took over the Tabandru drying plant there.
1997
New premises in Biddinghuizen
In 2005, VNK moved to new premises in Biddinghuizen, where it is still located.
2023
1951
Various transformations
Over the years, the company underwent several transformations. In 1972, the cooperative was converted into a limited liability company, with NCB becoming the sole shareholder.
1982
Herb growers association merger
In 1997, it merged with the Cooperative Herb Growers Association Krucodo U.A. in Elburg.
2005
Installation WTWI
Installation of a WTWI (heat recovery system) reduced gas consumption by 20%.

Ecological impact

VNK Herbs is committed to sustainable herb production with minimal ecological impact. Much of our herbs are of Dutch origin.

Our investments in energy conservation, such as a heat recovery plant that has reduced our gas consumption by 20%, demonstrate our commitment to environmental friendliness. alongside this, we are exploring sustainable technologies, such as heat pumps for the drying process. In addition, our range of organic herbs is growing, contributing to reduced pesticide use. By optimizing our production processes and producing semi-finished products, we shorten the supply chain and reduce waste.

With initiatives such as supplying dried parsley to the Dutch market, we are reducing our carbon footprint. At VNK Herbs, we believe that quality and sustainability go hand in hand, and we continue to strive for responsible herb production.
