VNK is a leading supplier of aromatic and medicinal herbs for the international food and pharmaceutical industries. VNK dries herb crops such as Parsley, Valerian, Echinacea and Pimpernel and makes end products from them. Herbal mixtures for the animal feed industry are also made. VNK has a modern and innovative production site in Biddinghuizen with efficient production and packaging lines.
VNK has more than seventy years of experience and works with partners in the chain. About 100 enthusiastic Dutch growers and a dozen service providers are guided in growing and harvesting herbs by their agronomists. VNK also advises and guides customers and suppliers abroad on quality assurance and product innovation. The company stands for entrepreneurship and innovation. By carefully securing the chain from cultivation to delivery, VNK can deliver customized products to its international customers with guaranteed quality.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the production process to achieve optimal efficiency and product quality.
- Analyze production data and identify areas for improvement to achieve operational objectives.
- Management, maintenance and innovation of the technical installations.
- Managing, motivating and developing the production team to achieve goals.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards within the production department.
- Collaborate with other departments and growers to support overall company goals.
Requirements:
- Minimum completed practical education in a relevant technical discipline such as mechanical engineering or process engineering, preferably supplemented by an Bachelor degree or extensive experience (hands on).
- Demonstrable experience in a leadership role within the production environment, preferably in the food industry.
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control and supply chain management.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving ability.
- Drive to strive for continuous improvement and innovation.
Additional Requirements and Characteristics:
- Minimum 5 years of work experience and is ready for 2nd or 3rd
- Practical training and understanding of machinery, with specific affinity for measurement and control techniques of plc controlled production lines
- Willingness to master in detail the unique drying and cleaning process of herb crops to ensure high product quality.
- Experience in setting up processes and a feel for measurement and control technology,
- Strong interest in agriculture and understanding of growing and harvesting herbal crops. Understanding and bonding with contract growers and service providers leads to effective cooperation and for good raw materials.
- Focus on customer orientation, focusing on the ability to think with the customer.
- Experience in managing both Dutch and other European foreign employees.
- Ability to function within management team, including being able to present results to management team.
